Management Development
BTAL is an accredited CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personal Development) centre for competency based qualifications. We have recognised that the most successful organisations are those that take the time to ensure their people are trained, managed and developed effectively.
We work with managers and supervisors to give them the skills they require to develop themselves, as well as mentor, train and assess individuals within your organisation. This ensures that your management team can provide a real difference to raising the quality of training within the workplace.
There are a number of programmes available, which range from certificate level at NVQ Level 3 to NVQ Level 4 that can be tailored to meet your specific requirements. Whatever your needs we can help.
Qualifications
Depending on the level of qualification required we offer a modular approach that focuses on specific subject areas, providing a certificate at each stage, which can provide credits towards an NVQ qualification. Alternatively we can work with an individual, assisting them to achieve NVQ qualifications from the outset.
BTAL recognises that not all individuals need to complete the full NVQ programme; therefore we have developed a series of mini awards with the CIPD. These comprise of NVQ Level 3 units to demonstrate competencies in specific learning areas such as: Mentoring, Coaching,Training and Presenting and providing support to learners.
Units for NVQ Assessors Learning & Development Units A1 & A2
Structure: Unit A1 is mandatory and Unit A2 is an optional extra.
Duration: 3/6 Months
Delivery: In group workshops to produce individual Action Plan to achieve the qualification.
This programme provides advice, support and certification to those who assess NVQ candidates. It includes:
- Planning assessment
- Making assessment decisions and giving feedback
- Making judgements against evidence
- Contributing to standardised assessment processes
Assessment Units for NVQ Assessors Internal Verifiers VI
Structure: Unit V1 is mandatory for Internal Verifiers
Duration: 3/6 Months
Delivery: In group workshops to produce individual Action Plan to achieve the qualification.
This programme provides advice, support and certification to those who quality assure the assessment process. It includes evaluation of Quality Assurance systems, support to assessors, monitoring assessor performance and liaison with external bodies.
NVQ Level 3 in Learning and Development
Structure: 11 units, 7 of which are mandatory and 4 optional.
Duration: 18/24 Months
Delivery: This can be achieved through group workshops, workplace observation and one to one advisory sessions.
This qualification is aimed at those involved in the delivery and evaluation of training and development to individuals and small groups. It includes:
- Identifying learning aims and developing programmes
- Agreeing learning programmes for the organisation
- Creating an environment that promotes learning
- Developing and designing training sessions
- Monitoring and reviewing progress with individuals
- Evaluating and developing own best practice
- Responding to changes in learning and developments
NVQ Level 4 in Learning and Development
Structure: 12 units, 8 of which are mandatory and 4 optional.
Duration: 18/24 Months
Delivery: This can be achieved through group workshops, workplace observation and one to one advisory sessions.
This qualification is aimed at those involved in the management, planning and design of training and development at organisational level. It includes:
- Contributing to learning within the organisation
- Identifying an individual’s or the organisation’s learning aims
- Designing learning programmes
- Creating an environment that promotes learning
- Agreeing learning programmes
- Evaluating and improving learning and development programmes
- Managing the contribution of other people to the learning process
NVQ Level 4 Management of Learning and Development Provision
Structure: 8 units, 6 of which are mandatory and 2 optional.
Duration: 6/12 Months
Delivery: This can be achieved through group workshops, workplace observation and one to one advisory sessions.
This qualification is aimed at those involved in the development, management and implementation of learning opportunities within the organisation. It includes:
- Developing a strategy and plan for learning and development
- Identifying the learning and development needs of the organisation
- Evaluating and developing own best practice
- Evaluating and improving learning and development programmes
- Managing the performance of teams and individuals
- Developing a strategy and plan to provide people resources for the organisation
NVQ Level 4 Co-ordination of Learning and Development Provision
Structure: 7 units, 6 of which are mandatory and 1 optional.
Duration: 6/12 Months
Delivery: This can be achieved through group workshops, workplace observation and one to one advisory sessions.
This qualification is aimed at those involved in the co-ordination of learning programmes for individuals and groups, designing programmes to meet their needs. It includes:
- Identifying individual learning aims and programmes
- Designing learning programmes
- Agreeing learning programmes
- Managing the contribution of other people to the learning process
- Evaluating and developing own best practice
- Evaluating and improving learning and development programmes
